Internship Immersion

During internship Immersion I learned a lot about working full days. I went to my internship from 8:00 to 3:00 most of the days seemed to go by very slow & other days it went by fast because I was always busy doing work or my mentor was not there. During immersion I learned a lot about how important it is to have good time managment skills.

Some of the projects I have been working on are redesigning a brochure. The brochure I am redesigning is the S.A.V.E brochure and the W.A.V.E brochure. This project wasn't proposed to me I actually thought of it myself because when I saw the brochure it looked too plain and looked like a bad piece of advertisment. So far by working on this project I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator. I also learned how to work under a budget and how to organize all the different aspects of the brochure such as color, paper size, paper quality, etc.
Another project I am working on is the database project. I input data using Microsoft Excel. There are these forms that the office has filed for years, since 2004, I have to take those forms and input all the information into the computer spread sheet.
One other project I am working on & just started is taking volunteer request. There is this request sheet at my office that volunteer managers across San Diego get too fill out. They can order name tags, water bottles, and stuff like that for their volunteers. Once we get their order I make that name tags and I get all the stuff they ordered then call them and ask them when they are willing to pick it up. By doing this project I learned how to manage my time because I do have a few projects im working on, so I think that balancing my time with these projects and other office work has taught me a lot about time management/organization.
